Your data, your call
Delete your account
You can delete your My Care Companion account and everything in it at any time. Here is how, and what happens.
The quickest way: from inside the app
- Sign in to the app or at www.mycarecompanion.net.
- Open Settings and scroll to Delete My Account.
- We email you a six-digit code. Enter it to confirm.
Your account then enters a 30-day deletion window. During the first 14 days you can restore it yourself from the link in the email we send; after 30 days everything is permanently removed.
If you can't sign in
Email support@mycarecompanion.net from the address on your account with the subject line "Please delete my account". We will confirm the request by replying to that address before anything is removed, and then follow the same 30-day process.
Delete some data, keep your account
You don't have to close the account to remove something. Signed in, you can delete:
- A single entry — open it from the daily log and choose Delete.
- A visit recording — open the visit and choose Delete; the audio, transcript and transcription job are removed together.
- An import of journal pages or a file — discard it before saving, or undo it afterwards from Settings → Data Services.
- A child's whole profile and every record in it — from the child's Settings.
- A caregiver's or provider's access — from your care team, at any time.
For anything else, email support@mycarecompanion.net from the address on your account and say what you would like removed; we confirm by replying to that address and complete the request within 30 days.
What is deleted with the account
- Your account: name, email address, password and settings.
- Every child profile you created, and all of their care records: medications and dose history, behavior, sleep, meals, health events, therapy notes, reports, visit recordings and transcripts, imported journal photographs and files.
- Your family chat messages and support conversations.
- Your device tokens and login history.
If other people are members of your family account, records they own are not deleted with yours; and if you are the only parent, the family and its children are deleted with you. Records that a healthcare provider you invited has already saved on their side are theirs, not ours.
What is kept, and why
- Payment records held by our payment processor, Stripe (name, email and billing details, never health information), for as long as financial regulations require.
- Anything we are required by law to keep, for example to resolve a dispute.
Before you go
If you would like a copy of your family's records first, open Settings → Data Services → Export and download them in the format you prefer. That works right up until the account is deleted.
